I was just checking out the lineup for Pickathon, and I must say I am impressed! The annual indie roots music festival will be entering its 13th year when it takes place August 5th through the 7th in Happy Valley, Oregon. As you may or may not know, ecoShuttle is a sponsor of Pickathon, and we will be offering transportation to the event from the Clackamas transit center to the Pickathon ticket gates.
Some of the acts I’m particularly keen on seeing include Black Mountain, they’re phenomenal live. Also, Portland’s very own Ages and Ages have received some much deserved praise from local print media, way to represent!
Pickathon is a family ordeal so bring along the kiddies, and be sure to bring your appetite so you can deal with the delicious offerings from vendors such as Al Forno Ferruzza, Violetta, Pine State Biscuits, and many others. I was just looking at the menu and it made me hungry, so have a look for yourself; http://pickathon.com/docs/2010/2010PickathonVendorMenu.pdf
Finally, I just want to give a shout out to the folks in Washington who worked to outlaw shark-finning. Shark-finning is the horrendous practice of catching a shark, cutting off its fins, and tossing it back in the ocean to drown. Nice work Washington state! Also, check out these links. -Mark
